p.1 #1 · Like a Lion

A couple of days ago, the ocean was roaring. It was foggy and rainy but I just couldn't stay at home when it was making that much noise. It was really too windy and rainy to get much, but I used one hand to try to hold this fence still and one to take the shot.

I've just finished an update of my website. If you would like to see some of my new work and a few site updates you can click on the www link to check it out.

Thanks for looking,

Nice scene - It's hard to find a descent dune fence like that one over here of the West coast. Great shot, I like it.

Our left coast dunes are too busy washing out to sea to worry about drifting

The fence does make for a neat foreground feature here and the irregularities work well here.

Nice image.

Hi Sharon, Nice shot. Shows the weather conditions well.
Here we have had lots of heavy snow the last couple of days......we might get ourselves dug out eventually.

I love this comp. There's enough 'see-through' to enjoy the sea grass along with the moody light. Very nicely done, Sharon, here and on your site.

Hey Sharon,

What a cool shot. Too me, what totally makes the shot is the 2 people. If they weren't in it, I think this would not have half of the impact that it does.

As to your website, I like it, but a couple of suggestions. First for an opening shot, I think you have much better photo's to place there. I would chose #7 of the Seascapes for instance. It's much more powerful. Then as to the website, I don't like not having a gallery for each group of photo's. Having to go through them one by one I think is going to lose a lot of people.

Keep up your good work!

Jim

Thanks, everyone.

Jim, I took your advice and changed the picture on the front page. Thanks for the feedback.

I don't find that I lose people because of the lack of thumbnails. I think it may have to do with the fact that my clients are people interested in this one little island. I have had clients tell me they prefer being able to click through the pics so easily.

Thanks, everybody!

I really like this composition. Lots of nice foreground patterns and textures in the grasses and wood, but the couple in the distance is the clincher that pulls it all together. I think it's among your best! Well done.

Love this shot. The foreground builds the suspense and the couple is the real story. The composition just clicks.

Hello, Sharon. Really nice shot. Terrific detail and comp, and that distant couple is a wonderful bonus.

Nicely framed Sharon. I like the people, and the subtle diagonal of the fence which seems to delineate the color in the image as well.

Thank you, all. The young couple in the shot had ridden their bikes to the beach! I couldn't believe they rode bikes in that wind.
