i've never owned Zeiss but understand they produce some high contrast pictures which is what i like, can i see some of your examples?

the current 1.4 version, i think they just announced newer versions, but whatever is the best availibe now for nikon F-mount.

The new version for Nikon, ZF.2, should be exaxctly the same as the ZE for Canon which I used for these portraits. Optically they are the same as the previous ZF, but its chip will enable auto aperture, auto EXIF, AF confirm etc...

How about some contax N 85 shots to compare to these fine ZE portraits?

Thanks, Wayne. Paul Yi would answer "it's all in the lens!". I disagree. It is all in the country! India is really the portrait photographer's paradise. Not only that, of course, but that definitely.
