Also, Andy, how many total images did you submit? '80 and over' is cool, but what were the actual scores? Or is that a personal private thing? I mean, 5 points separates you from being Excellent versus just 'Above Average'.
To all the winners... you are awesome. Incredible and inspiring work. Thanks so much for sharing and giving the rest of us something to 'shoot' for. Well done. Cheers, Martin
Did anyone take photos of the mounted prints before you sent them off?
I'm still perplexed as to how I should handle mounting them because of the whole fact that the labs tell you one thing and the judges vote completely opposite.

"Do you like to draw, or paint? Or maybe even sketch and doodle? If so, send away for your FREE artists' test, and when complete, for a small fee, we will evaluate your work and...." . Who remembers that commercial?

Good grief...if you guys are scoring in the 80s, WTH does a 90+ look like? Anyone got a link?
Its a bit misleading. Less than 10 percent of those submitted get 80 or above. The difference between a 79 and 80 is big. Its not just one point, it could be considered a 10 point difference in my mind and many judges. Also the first through third places are not based on score. I have had an 84 take first place before and beat out a 90 of mine which took third.
Score does not determine winners. They are scored then the head judge picks a cutoff score for final scoring. In the case above it was 84. So in theory someone could have had a 100 that got beat by an 84. In practice high scoring prints did so because they were impressive and also do well in the placing. Have not seen Jesus in the contest but Yervant got a 100 two years ago.
