The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy for me and I am just now getting back to sorting through my shots from the Lake Quinault area. This one is from a short loop called the Maple Glade Trail near a Ranger Station along North Shore Rd. I was afraid not many images I took that morning would pan out given bright morning sun and dark shady groves but this one surprised me with some very workable lighting.

Wow , Alan . Some of the best and most dramatic light I've seen recorded in the Lake Quinault rainforest area . Lesson: Don't bin it until you've worked at it !
Very nice comp. I really like the hints of fall leaves and the brown fern spread throughout the whole image, very nicely seen Alan. BTW batten down the hatches tonight man that wind up here is just howling.
All of the moss covered branches look like the arms of some sort of alien creature. They sure direct my eye through the scene. I have yet to shoot in a location with so much chaotic detail. You've done a great job choosing a composition that organizes the madness of the forest. The lighting gives it a bit of a 3D feel.
Some great depth & dimension youv'e captured!
Did someone say 3D
Love the moss covered trees.
Looks very much like one of these land before time scenes.

A jumbled mess perfectly organized through thoughtful composition and great lighting was the first thought that came to mind so I'm putting it down . Gotta love what you did here with a seemingly impossible subject. Great work!
Beautiful, Al. You really got some terrific detail in those images for that locale. All have been lovely. Wonderful catch on this, and delightful colors.
wow...jungle vegetation. The light is spectacular creating a sense of depth. The greens and the yellows are glowing and the whole scene looks coming out of a forgotten land. Very beautiful captured.
