I like the simple boldness here Hugh. The color intensity in the sky doesn't match the water, you could balance the two out if you agree with me. If not still works fine to me.

Lovely depth and subtle detail , Hugh . Wonderful pastel colours and superb gradations in the sky . Peaceful solitude at its best .
Hello Adrian, thanks for the kind compliments. I was afraid the lack of clouds would keep the sunset from producing viable conditions, and was very pleasantly surprised at the results. Glad you enjoyed this one too.

Very artful indeed, Hugh. Has a graphical impact that, in this case, I really like. The color contrasts are quite striking!
Barry
Hello Barry, thanks for commenting. The conditions looked kind of bland at first, but slowly improved to a fine, pastel glow as the sun set. Glad you enjoyed the result.

Hugh, this image really sings with color. I love the differences between the colors in the sand against the colors in the sky. The orange is almost phosphorescent, and brings out the foreground in a dimensional schism of delicate detail.
The simplistic, eloquent nature of this image instills a feeling of succor and exhiliration all at the same instant.
One of the best I've seen from you Hugh.
Hello Larry, thank you so much. Producing a 'best of' is always a thrill. This image speaks volumes about the efficacy of searching out new places and conditions. I'm very pleased you enjoyed it. Please stay tuned, there will be a couple more from this area.
Just awesome love how that vibrant sky contrast so nicely with that soft foreground sand, very nicely seen
Ray Still
Thanks Ray, the white sand is quite a change from the darker, less reflective surface I'm used to. I was surprised and pleased at the effect. Glad you enjoyed it too.

Alan
Hello Alan, thanks for the kind words. At first I thought the sunset would be bland and unrewarding. I was very pleased to be wrong . Glad you enjoyed the results too

Absolultely love it. I couldn't explain it as well as Larry can but there is something very striking about it. Excellent.
Ute
Hi Ute, I enjoyed your explanation too I was very pleased with the results, particularly since it was the first time in the area, and evening instead of morning . Glad you enjoyed it too.

Very striking image, Hugh. Wonderful transition from the sand in the foreground leading to the brilliantly colored sky. And, thanks for the info on the exhibits. This would make for a nice weekend trip for me.
Cheers,
Ed
Hello Ed, thanks for commenting and for the feedback. We are discussing another visit to the Ft. Walton area as soon as the Ida damage is resolved, and, possibly, Apalachicola next weekend. Glad you enjoyed this visit.

PS - if you have to choose, the AA exhibit at the Columbia Museum would be my choice. All of the images were taken and printed by AA. - h

Hello Al, thanks for commenting and for the 'best of' . It made a pretty good print on Exhibition Fiber, and is on the short list for a large version on canvas. Glad you enjoyed it too
