Three championship games (3 age groups) and an exhibition game vs a neighboring town.
Overcast and drizzle (better than harsh shadows IMHO).
I brought both bodies, 1D Mark II and Rebel T1i/500D, but for no particular reason, I never brought out the 1D2... I shot all day with the Rebel. First game I used the 100-400L. I intended to try the 85/1.8 just for something different, but for the rest of the afternoon/evening, I just used the 70-200/2.8L
Part of me was burned out on Youth Football... wishing I was at the Varsity football playoff game that was rained out from Friday night and rescheduled for Saturday, or at the Varsity Girl's VB tournament (they won... state quarterfinals tonight), or just staying at home and watching my favorite... college FB.
But I know I'll be jonesin to shoot football in a couple of months, so I tried to get my fill while I could.
Lots of sideline candids. Lots of emotion. I avoided posed shots... hold the trophy and smile for the camera. But I did get a lot of kids smiling at their trophies... remember when a gold piece of plastic meant the world to you?
And I got a lot of Dads (coaches) congratulating and consoling their kids.
Overall a fun day of shooting. Already look forward to next season. (Actually looking forward to Spring Lacrosse next... if I can just make it through indoor basketball season.)
Clarence, your shots look great! if you shot all of those with the Rebel, Canon should use your work in a commercial to show what the Rebel can really do ( and pay you well in the process too!)

Thanks Steven, but the last thing we need is 300 million moms on the sidelines with Rebels.
But then again... if Canon gave me a dollar for every Rebel sold... hmmm.
Or they could have all my pics for half of whatever Nikon pays Ashton Kutcher
