Nice images Mike! Where did you shoot them? They remind me of a spot in the Poudre Canyon.
Jack....
Jack, I'd prefer the Poudre. These are on the I-70 corridor, between Idaho Springs and Silver Plume. Sometimes I can be on frontage roads. Other times I simply park as far off the interstate as possible and start walking once I've spotted the sheep. If I approach slowly, and in stages, the sheep seem very tolerant of humans. Be very careful to stay away from private property, as you can encounter some very protective landowners. I still recall Andy Rueble who would step out of his garage and starting shooting with his 30/30; you were supposed to shout "Andy it's me!" I much prefer door bells.
I keep trying 'lip curling' but can't quite get it to work for me yet Neat subject, I am used to very small ones in comparison, good job here Glad you had the opportunity to witness these beautiful animals, I bet the head bashing is startling to hear and see!

Karl Great comment! Without a Jacobson's Organ the lip curl isn't going to do much for us humans. Might be too much information.
Thank you, Mike

Great shots..That must have been exciting to watch.. These are terrific animals to watch. The big rams can be hard to find, unless it is the rut. Thanks, Mike

Cool shots, I would love to shoot these one day. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Hope you get many chances to take photos like these.
Mike
Sounds like you must be familiar with the Poudre Canyon spot; they come down to within a few yards of the road. Not much room to safely park, but easy shooting otherwise. Hope to see more of your images because I can't get out there this winter.
