Very clever way to get a bunch of photographers to friend you on facebook for sure.

Was that the goal all along?

If so, nice!

Otherwise Fail on the ridiculous "distribution method" once someone friends you they can distribute the photos wherever they want... presumably you will approve anyone who asks to friend you now 'cause how the heck would you know if they're some lost soul or someone from FM wanting to see the shots?

Wow. You sound really bitter. Lighten up.

Bitter?

Someone compliments you on a facebook strategy and suddenly they're bitter?!?!

I stand by my words... the premise that putting them on facebook with restrictions that only "Friends" can see them... but then inviting a bunch of strangers to friend you to see them is silly if your goal is anything other than increasing your number of friends and possibly targeting the increase at wedding photographers.

Of course there's the possibility that you plan on NOT accepting EVERY single friend request this generates... in which case you'd be an A$$ for wasting our time.

FWIW I was and am not bitter about this at all... I think your plan (if my guess is correct) is brilliant... if you have no interest in artificially increasing your friend count and/or having random wedding photographers be your "friends" then it's boneheaded.

I apologize for the candor if that is what the problem is here.

unbitterly yours,

nOt Lisy.

P.S. For the record... yeah due to my "bitterness" I have found myself accidentally calling a spade a spade on occasion. Sorry about that

Wow, I love their use of "dutch tilt" - well, sort of 1/2 way between level and tilted....
The exposure and separation from the black background seems spot on and they seem to have really connected with you during the shoot - the shots show real emotion

But seriously, I didnt believe that the photos were going to be that bad! Obviously I didnt expect too high a standard for $15 but still...

I added you on facebook (Jonathan Humble) just to see these pictures but you also have an awesome portfolio on there! Though I don't know if your aware that the disclaimer you agreed to before uploading allows facebook to use your images as they please...

Why do you have to make it sound like a dirty thing?

Frankly it was intended as a compliment. I realize that I did state that if that wasn't the intention then the whole idea was boneheaded... but I never thought boneheaded to be a terrible word... kind of in the neighbourhood of silly, or dummy, or something like that. Not like I dunno "idiot" or "moron"

And hey... you're the frekkin' resident queen of calling a spade a spade... so cut me some slack here willya?

That's right.....you still haven't replied!

I was so busy with that whole Yankees winning the World Series thing that I didn't even notice.....

I'll settle for some of that logoed gear instead.

Just interested, but what liability issues are you worried about? As long as your commentary sticks to the truth, you should be fine. As long as you have the copyright or a licence to make available online of course... Not sure how work for hire rules usually apply in the US, but perhaps the studio gave you terms with your bargain purchase?

I'd be interested to see the shots, but not enough to bother with adding you on Facebook, sorry.

I'm sure he has the rights to post them on the internet... that's a fairly common use... plus he'd have to be a total douchebag to do all he did... and then it turns out he's violating the chain store's IP.

I give my clients the rights to post for friends to see, and I doubt this chain store wouldn't do the same.

per the facebook write-up: he paid $70 for the package which was supposed to include all the high-rez digital images plus prints, and all reproduction rights.

he got home to discover that only the three files the he got prints of were in high-rez. bastards i was looking forward to a massive canvas of one of those "serious" ones
