DR was horrible and SOOC color was occasionally atrocious. Any pictures of people looked horrible. Build quality was great and the interface wasn't bad.
Today, a cheap SD1200 is FAR faster, smaller, and more useful. I think there's much more room for improvement with compacts, and the S90 is a step in the right direction.

Thanks! I was very happy in my early days of photography (digital anyway) with that Canon A70. Small, light and simple to use, it was great. Sometimes I wish for those days again when I didn't care about gear and only cared about making photos

Haha, i cared about gear already in 1999, as you can see from my pic spec, but my head are were always focused on picture taking (still is), not equipment so much, even though i love a good camera...

Those were posted Feb 2000, when the majority were still using 28kbps dial-up, hence the conservative size.
