Got a huge blog post coming.... Trying to challenge myself and post entire weddings for the rest of the year. I'm talking 100 + images, that way clients know exactly what they are getting. They will know that I'm not getting a 20 trick pony....
p.s. I picked up a 35/f2 to see if there is a big difference from it and the 35L. So far not much difference and is super sharp wide open as this image shows.
I tried the 35/2 as well. My impression is that in good light there isn't THAT MUCH of a difference but when the light drops for once you have a whole extra stop of light , but also focusing seemed much faster. Then again, may have been the specific35/2 I tried
Ha...ha.. yeah it the GILF chick. I shoot available light everywhere, if I do use strobe it is because I really need it or I'm going for a certain type of shot. The 35/f2 did pretty good at the reception which was very dimly lit.
Photodude is the real effing deal. I had the pleasure of shooting the video for this wedding, and I've got to say that Reg's ninja skills are unparalleled. I'd lose track of him for several minutes at a time and later discover him in the shadows stealthily shooting the hell out of the aforementioned 35/f2.
The highpoint of the day was immediately after the ceremony. In what has to go down as one of the all-time ballsiest moves in the history of formals, Reg smooth-talked a few very skeptical members of the bridal party into a pose that wouldn't have gotten me slapped/sued.
Can't wait to see the photos...just slow down a little bit because you're going to make me look bad with the lightening fast delivery.
