I like everything about this image in terms of composition, but was hoping someone on here could help me with suggestions on how to improve it, particularly the fact that it's out of focus.
What would be the best way to sharpen this image?
It also feel that it has a considerable amount of noise. I thought about fixing with a softening filter like gaussian blur, then sharpening the eyes, hair, lips, nose, etc..
Also, does it appear too red or warm? I'm sorta mixed about it.
I like what you did with the skin tone. Much better. With sharpening, the noise becomes more apparent (as expected). When I use noise reduction on lightroom, things lose their sharpness. Suggestions...or will I have to accept the grain to make the pic more in focus?
It might be a bit over-sharpened. I didnt take the time to really work to reduce noise, mask over skin. Just a quick job. I did reduce clarity slightly, which softens some noise. I did bump luminance noise reduction and less so color noise reduction in LR, but the effects are subtle.
A larger original is less likely to show artifacts of sharpening and could be worked on further, with better results. If you print, especially on a matte paper, the "grain", noise will be less apparent.
