Awesome set, Sam... I'll have to come back to this when I'm bored with editing some images to give specific feedback, but lots of really outstanding images.
Though its a bit of a Best-of set, the number of signature-image quality shots is incredible. Very moving stuff in here Sam. You're a mighty force in raising the Bay Area's bar.
I have to come back to give you a better critique later. Just wanted to say this.
WOW. I just don't even know what to say except WOW! This is such an awe inspiring set of 77 pictures and worth going through EVERY ONE OF THEM. The orphanage set moved me to tears...what a powerful story and amazing set of images. Thank you so much for sharing these!!!!!!!
I saw these the other night in Hoffer's lab. He was off-loading the images from my cards at the time and was scrolling through the feed. I remember 8, 9, 10, and 18 jumping out at me....even with the quick scroll. 9 and 10 in particular really stood out to me at first glance, and even moreso now that I've seen them again. Awesome work!
Sam. Can we please see another 77? I was starting to write favorites down but realized the whole set was a favorite. The orphanage shots are wonderful and the grandmother's story would have broken me up too. And your wedding shots are simply wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing. And please let me know when the Sam Hassas east coast seminar tour begins as I'll be the first in line. Cheers, Martin
It's a funny thing, I see so many photographers who advertise with catch words like "fresh, creative, etc...," and then the work they show is a lot like what you see everywhere else.
Sam, you are one of the few I've seen who could legitimately back up such claims if you wanted to. Your ability to capture a moment from a great perspective AND do it well technically (and so consistently)...is exceptionally inspirational.
I tried to come up with more superlatives, but i'm only on my 2nd cup of cofffee this morning.
