Spent the first two weeks of September at the beach to take in the fading days of summer. Here are a few shots from that trip. All were taken pretty much at first light. I never tire of rising out of bed early to witness the greeting of the day.
Nice set here really like the pastels you have captured here, very nice comps here and easy on the eyes. I personally may have tried a crop on #2 where i would crop off the OOF foreground wave, nice work Ed
I really like the minimalistic look of #1 with those pastels, and that kind of high-key look. #2, I don't like as much, the foreground is too OOF I think... But #3.... now that one really rocks! Love the water movement, the pelicans flying by.... man, just totally sweet!
+1 to Jim's comments on this set Ed - #1 and 3 are really nice. 2 might be more interesting with a recrop as the colors and reflections have some serious potential.
A really nice series. in #1 I could see myself having a cup of coffee gazing into the distance, very serene. I also like the movement of the waves in number #3. The birds are a nice touch, and pull it together.
Plus 1 to Alan's comments . Wonderful gradation from sky to glowing sea in #1 which , to me , has an air of wistful farewell about it . I also like the deep calmness conveyed by # 2 , and can see that picture as a peaceful and restful image .

Lovely set Ed. All very simple compositions and all very effective. My favourite here is #2 with the warm colours and the birds just below the horizon.

Ed,
Number 3 is the one that really stands out of this set. Not that the others don't have merit. The rhythm & texture of the waves and the Pelican formation across the frame. Very nice

1 and 3 are gorgeous. Morning light simply rocks. It is very evident in #1 which has also very nice comp but #3 is a great instant capture with these birds almost frozen in action and the water with that texture. That's kind of difficult to combine. What was your shutter speed?
