Nice shot...and if you are keeping score...7-0. Seven of my co-workers (some who dont follow the NBA) all said cool shot of Lebron. One did state though it looked like he was on his cell phone.
Anyway, nice shot and glad it is creating discussion...
..........And there should be no doubt in anyone's mind who this is.
My girlfriend knew who it was. She hates basketball.
...........it took her all of 2 seconds to say "Lebron James"

That's because you could parachute into the uncharted Congo and ask the first person you see to name a basketball player and a golfer. You would get Lebron and Tiger. Ask them to name two..........some will say Shaq, maybe.
It's more about name recognition than silhouette recognition.
I really like this photo and love the idea of the photo. To me it looks like the transition from 'normal person' to superstar as he walks out of the locker room and into the spotlight of 12,000 fans (and millions on TV). I think a photo like this has some potential to be iconic. I really don't know what to say to improve this particular shot. Maybe get a little more light in front of Lebron to contrast the basketball floor with the tunnel?
IMO, this would be something along the lines of what I would consider an "iconic" image. I would proudly print this to a 16x20, frame it and hang it on my wall.
Cool thing about this one, too, is that there will be no need to go around the office or house asking all your friends, "hey, can you tell who this is in the image."
Nope its a photo composite photo. Its lebron james cut out put on a blackbackground and I shot chalk in a pitch black room and strobed it and put the two together. Yes I have that photo printed out 30x36 and hanging in my wall in my basement next to my Leading Off I had in Sports Illustrated a couple of weeks ago of the USC game winning touchdown.

It's a great photo, but...this shot has really become more of a logo than a photograph. Thus, iconic--sure, unique and interesting? I dunno. I've actually convinced myself that he does this chalk thing for photographs.

Sweet shot, it would've been cooler if the stands were actually filled but on the top of the frame, but that is out of your control. This is a great shot and I think you clearly accomplished what you were wanting to with an iconic image.
it is too bad the stands are half empty and it looks almost like a little D2 arena in the shot since it doesn't have that stepping into the final game of the NBA finals with packed stands and everything on the line and here comes.... LeBron.... down the tunnel and.... BAM out into the lighting of the court!.... say goodbye to the other team! (ok, well maybe not ) iconic sort of feel in that sense
