I'm selling one of my Nikon classic 50mm f1.4 AI lens in exc+ condition. The lens comes with generic front cap and nikon rear cap. Glass is perfect with no marks, focusing is fine. I'm asking $115 shipped and paypaled to your door in cont USAt. I can take bank check or money order. Thanks for looking.
Excuse the ignorance, silly question here... this lens has AF, right? If so, is there any functionality (AF, metering, etc.) that is not available on D3-series cameras?
^ This lens is manual focus, however, it's one of the most recent versions of the MF 50mm f/1.4 lenses, and it supports aperture linkage with your D3 for proper light metering in your camera's Aperture Priority and Manual modes. EXIF info will reflect the selected aperture, and the focal length of the lens.
I highly recommend this lens if you don't need AF at this focal length. I like it so much, I currently have 2 copies of it

Thanks, Jason. I might argue that I don't "need" AF, but honestly I do want it. Will pass on this one, hopefully next time. Bump, too.
One of the other differences in manual focus AI lenses vs AF (which are "AI", auto-indexing, too) is that the manual AI lenses use quite a bit more metal in their construction. Gives them a very silky focusing action but that kind of construction would put greater demands on an AF motor and its battery if they actually made AF lenses that way.
