While Half Dome slumbered after sunrise, the sun broke over the tree line.
I guess you call this natures alarm clock.

I struggled to find something most of Friday, but while leaving the park on Sat
stopped at the meadow. The photographers were like ants.

Cause I didn't use Floris trick, the flare was a bit of challenge, but layers came thru. Next time I will get it right

Really nice, Dan. The browntones mix quite nicely with the Half Dome and the mist. Sun rays are looking good to me.

Dan, the flares came out good, if that was your goal. Sadly, the mountains were not as exciting at that time.

I like how the light is falling on the trees and the foggy atmosphere in the fg. very good work.

Hey Dan,

Cool shot here! I love the way the flare works here. It came out good. I don't think you would have wanted to use Floris' trick here, because that diffused light streaking across the frame is what makes this shot. I also think Half Dome looks perfect for this shot. So I see nothing to be sad about, I think this is one awesome shot!

Thanks all,
It was a pleasant scene to behold & made me happy for having gone.
I would have preferred the more dramatic skies, but this is Fall and the weather is still trying to stay warm in the afternoon.
I am working on handling flare better, both in camera & PP, other than getting a new WA lens!

I will just have to return after the first snows and have at it again

I like the light on the foreground and the trees. I think you have a beautiful capture here. I dont care about the flare.

It's got a really nice feel to it, Dan. The background doesn't really pull me in, but the foreground does.
