Was in the southwest part of China (SiChuan and YunNan) recently. I was fortunate I was there when the leaves were turning color. This is my first time taking fall photos at such high altitudes. Here are some of the photos I hope to share:
I got lost in #7 ... what is that red tangle of swamp? what are those half-hidden buildings? stout square repeated, what do people do there? what did people do there? is it a ruin? is it a village of some kind? (all rhetorical in my head, though would love to hear back story...)
which is to say, I liked it for me, a tension between nature/civilization and present/past.
#1 and 3 were taken in YaDing National Park in SiChuan. There are 3 mountains in that park, all ~ 6000 m above sea level. These mountains are considered sacred to the Tibetans. #1 is Mt. Chenresig (or Xiannairi) and #3 is Mt. Jampelyang (or Yangmaiyong). The rest of the park is about 4000 m above sea level.
