Has anyone here gone to a plus class? Those sound interesting - I may talk to Matt about something like that. We've been interested in Cliff Mautner's workshop, I wonder if his plus class will be similar.
We did one our first year, and it helped us immensely. I do think we lucked out though because there hasn't been a similar-sounding one since (can't remember what it was called, unfortunately, but it had something to do with developing a consistent style across the engagement and wedding). The years since we've passed on them.
Aside from that first plus class, we've had the best luck just wandering in to platform sessions. Some of the most well-known ones have been worthless to us while some doing it for the first time have been incredibly useful, even if going in we weren't sure what to expect. I think it really depends on you and what you want to get out of it too.

Yeah, I'm planning on going, and my priorities are:
50% social
40% trade show
10% classes
Point being that I don't think WPPI is the best place to learn how to make a standout business... because there are thousands of others hearing the same things.
Same here... I love going, but mostly because I love Vegas and it's a great excuse to hang out with friends for a week, drop in on a couple classes taught by people that inspire me, and go nuts drooling over gear.
Priorities this year... I signed up for the 2 day Plus class with Jerry Ghionis and I plan on bringing a mint for gear. We don't have any shops here where we can go in and actually test stuff out before we buy it, so the trade show is like my dream come true. I love internet shopping, but I love being able to put my hands on stuff and ask questions even more.
I'm excited about going too but feeling like I have too many choices. Thinking about doing a plus class. This will be my first time going... excited about it!
Are you guys members of wppi? What do you get by being a member? Is it worth it to sign up?
DB, I didn't get a chance to go to the Plus classes because I decided to late to go last year and EVERYTHING was booked up that I wanted, but the people I talked to what were able to attend said that they were definitively worth it. The classes are smaller and the instructors have more time to interact with people.
SO it sounds like there are quite a few of us that will be going to WPPI this year. Rick and I are planning on attending but we had a booking for the 6th so will be catching the tail end of it. Sorry if this has already been mentioned but are there any SET plans for a FM meet up? I've heard everyone say how great it would be and I definitely agree! If we haven't decided on a date or put an FM meeting on the books yet maybe we could shoot for Monday the 8th or later... (for my own little selfish reasons of wanting to attend lol)
