This is my first picture post to the FM forum, so be kind! When I saw the topic I couldn't resist. I am not a pro wedding shooter just an amateur who enjoys learning! I took the picture with my Canon 5D and Canon 100mm Macro lens.
This ring was a gift to my wife on our 25th wedding anniversary earlier this month. I used this picture to have a custom anniversary card printed for the occasion.
I tend to stick to "safe" ring shots with very plain and neutral backgrounds, but after seeing so many beautiful colorful shots on FM, I stepped out of my comfort zone for a recent shoot...it took twice as long to do, but I liked the results. I'll have to get more adventurous in the future!

Would it be a total waste of internet bandwidth if I went ahead and told you that the only thing more outstanding than the photo you posted was the idea to have it printed as a custom anniversary card.
Fantastic photo, fantastic (in it's blend of beauty and simplicity) ring, fantastic idea... There... now see if I've inflated your ego so much you can't make it out of your door
No but seriously... gorgeous!
Thumbs up.
I bet your wife was speechless
(Oh I'm a dude btw... so I'm channeling the remotely located sensitive side here )
While not a regular poster in this forum, I'm a frequent lurker. I have to say that I've been inspired and educated just hanging around here, and thanks to you all for the fantastic examples and information.
With that said... here are my meager attempts to play in this pond. There are elements of each that I like, but I still tend to go back to #3 as my personal favourite given the meaning of the rings and the piano keys to the bride and groom.
