I might just believe you'd gone to the trouble of perfectly Photoshopping in the stag and his shadow, but the two does on the left must make it real!! I've hardly ever seen a stag close up in Scotland (I did see one once on the shores of Loch Beinn A Mheadhoin, way beyond Tomich). What an iconic image!

Great shot without the stag, amazing with
The trees on the right and the grazing deer on the left almost look pasted into the scene, the low sun makes them shine. Nice
Thank you Mercapto . The low-angle light was a great bonus ; in any case . I don't know how to paste !

Splendid shot, Adrian!
I'm terribly, extraordinarily, fearfully, unbelievably envious!!!! All the places of my dreams! Ok I've been more than once to most of them, except Orkney, but still, I can't wait to get back (Barry, David and anyone who's been there knows what I feel now).
I can't wait to get up there sometime January/February when there's some serious snow because I've never been there in winter yet.
Thanks for your heartfelt comments Carlo .I know how you feel , and when my bank account has recovered from this recent outrage the wanderlust will doubtless re-assert itself ! Better to have a roof over your head than a few more pics of Scotland .....

lovely image Adrian, the stag just adds to what is a great image already

Thank you Rob. Pure chance and luck on my part , and compensation for the preceeding disapponting weather !

And with such a splendid image too. Love it.
Ute
Many thanks Ute . Still recovering from the experience , and contemplating going through lots of possible posts . Hope you enjoyed your last few days in Gloucestershire .
Back to the roots, Adrian. I envy you for this journey, I hope you had a fine weather. I wish it is possible to go to Scotland again, I am especially interested in the Outer Hebrides. I am curious about your forthcoming images.
I like your image, its a convenient image after your return.
Karl
If this is a sign of things to come, I can't wait for the sequels. Some truly precious light that provides a rather painterly quality over all. GREAT shot!

wow now I know why you didn't join the gang in the PNW . What an incredible journey you must have had. By the looks of this first image it was a stellar of a time, all the components are working so beautifully here, a gorgeous image, looking forward to seeing many of many images from your journey
Ray Still
Many thanks Ray . As I go through my takings I'm beginning to think that this hasty shot is one of the best of the trip . On most days the weather was not my friend , but nevertheless it was a great journey !

What a fabulous sounding experience, Adrian. We missed you terribly!
That's one heck of an image. I didn't know there was 3500 miles between those places, but I do look forward to seeing more.
Thanks very much Jeffrey . Take a look at a large scale map of the Scottish coastline and you will see that with its heavily indented geography you can clock up very high mileages to get to places which are only a few miles apart by sea movement ! You do , of course , get to see some great scenery en route .

Hey Adrian,
Cool! What a great shot. I love the painterly light you got here. And to get that stag looking at you from the side? That is sweet.
I look forward to seeing more.
Jim
Hi Jim . Many thanks for your kind comments .That light was a great rarity --- that was the best light I had in the 4 weeks , as you may see from some of the disappointing results --- should I decide to post them !

Good thing that you didn't take Martin's Alpha Splendid start to chronicle your trip. More please.
Thanks Tim . No , I took MY Alfa and apart from a front exhaust section replacement the beast purred all the way on that 3,500 mile extravaganza !

Many thanks Bart . I'm so glad to hear you're fully recovered and out producing your usual splendid work for all to admire and envy ! I'm trying hard to recover from the after effects of my odyssey and to get around to commenting on some of the great work accumulated during my absence .
