Interesting that he says this is "something you're going to want to see." The rumored specs listed so far (well maybe not the ones just listed a few posts up) are pretty 'meh' and what we'd all expect.
Vincent is huge into video ever since the 5DII came out, so I'm thinking this will be something big for video.

Check your math... the crop factor should be squared.
Yup.. you're right there!
FF = 21.1 mp
1.25 crop = 21.1 / (1.25 x 1.25) => 13.5 mp!!
Wow... at 12fps? That would be 162 Mbit of data per second. Which in theory scales nicely with the projected increase in processing power of the newer Digic chips.
This is gonna be interesting. Because I believe the tilt/fold screen thing has been hinted by Canon marketing for at least 1~2 months already. Look at their adverts of the Legria on the website, you'll see a line drawing showing a 1D body with a 'fade-in-fade-out' of the Legria video recorders line drawings... I've noticed it about 1~2 months already but never thought too much into it... now that this has been put on the web... I seriously believe it is true!
Specification have now been confirmed here in Tokyo, the camera will be named the 1D Mark IV and the specs are as follows:
- 21.1 Megapixels
- Full Frame with 1.3 Crop Mode
- 8 FPS in Full Frame Mode
- 12 FPS in 1.3 Crop Mode
- Dual Digic IV Processors
- Native ISO 25,600
- Boost Mode ISO upto 102,400
- 45 AF Points - 39 Cross
- 63 Zone Metering
- 1080p @ 24-60 fps
- 720p @ 120 fps
- S-RAW Video
- HDMI HD video output
- 3" Fold & Tilt LCD Screen
- Self Cleaning Sensor
The actual body ergonomics haven't changed a great deal, with the biggest difference being the new Fold & Tilt LCD and the appearance of large hot keys beside the screen, that look slightly like the ones on Phase One Digital Backs.
There will also be three accessories at launch:
1. VDSLR Mount System
2. XLR Pro Audio Module
3. 1TB Flash Recording Module
The XLR Pro Audio Module and 1TB Flash Recording Modules are made to connect into the VDSLR Mount System to convert the camera into a fully fledged Video device, changing the form factor into one that Filmmakers are more familiar with.
Will report back when I get further information....Show more →

Now that would tempt me to sell my 1Ds3 and pickup!

I'd sell my remaining kidney and go on permanent dialysis for a camera like this.
