Well, CF has better damping properties than other materials, so that MIGHT be a factor.
Then again, such damping might be most important with a tripod, since they typically have more lateral stresses on the legs, and/or might have high winds hitting from the sides. I'm not sure how much CF damping would affect a monopod, where the leg is "typically" straight up & down & also you are holding the camera.
Maybe someone with more experience than me can weigh in on this.
