Hi All,

I've been loving this season with my "fixed" MKIII. This shot was taken at f2.8 on a 300mm prime. I had one shot to get the ribbon cut and the MKIII pulled through. As prices fall for used bodies there are going to be some real bargains out there. I know there are a lot of folks that want to upgrade their MKIIs and MKIIn's, so I hope this can bring them a little confidence to make the purchase.

The model has a 10' wingspan and is traveling approximately 80mph.

As I've mentioned in many previous threads, my MKIII was a poor focuser before the last fix, and now it's fantastic.

Great flying too!

Looks like the tail was about an inch or so off the ground!

Thanks guys, and yes, the tail was within 3 inches of the tarmac. That takes some guts with a $10,000 airplane.

When was your "last fix"? I'm hoping to buy a used mkIII that was sent to canon in february of this year.

Hi,

They were not doing the latest autofocus fix until around May so I doubt that camera has had it. I would only buy one from a source with a return policy in case you get one with focus problems.

Wow Anthony! It is a small world. Good to see you here. All the photographers here have helped me a lot over the last few years. It's a great forum. BTW - your coverage of the IRCHA event on rcheliresource.com was fantastic. The site is really looking good.

That "dummy" pilot has to be glued into the cockpit very securely to withstand the kind of G-forces that those planes incur.

Seems like a good pilot. You should have duct taped your 1D to the plane, used a remote timer and gotten some great aerial shots
