Making Fire: Wasabi.
Here is a Sushi master preparing Wasabi the original way. Only good sushi places use real roots to make wasabi, a kind of hot radish placed between fish & rice of many sushis. Hot stuff, it can put your mouth on fire. The wood grinding plate is covered by a shark skin, and lasts for about 3 months.
Hope you appreciate the ambiance, it was actually delicious ...![]()

Nice shot. Very interesting info on how they make traditional wasabi. I always know when I have a little too much when my sinuses burn...![]()

I only know of 2 places in NY City that prepare wasabi this way...spicy, yet very delicate. Nice Shot.

The weird part: that's the only place where we got a shrimp still alive on the rice (we've seen shrimp that were alive on the chef's board, not on the rice). Putting something still moving in your mouth is a bizarre experience.

Hi Alex,
Terrific idea, but I would love the focus of the picture to be evident without the explanation. For me it wasn't, but maybe that is just me being a bit thick.
Best wishes,
Steve S.
