With the addition of a 2X TC equals 100-1000mm and a quite nice one in my experience.

Looks more like 50-500 adapted to the Olympus Pen which has 2x crop sensor. That makes it 100-1000mm.

If that is a Sigma lens on an Olympus(?) camera body, why is this thread in the Canon forum? It makes no sense.

We got a Nikon binocular thread, gary fong parody, backpack thread, etc. If they can stay here, I don't see how anyone can say anything about this thread. At least it's not a flame bait thread like those Canon vs Nikon ones here.

It is indeed an EF mount, which is why I put it here. Does that make it better?

I agree with Lance and EBH. This Canon forum is filling up with a lot of non-Canon threads.

Just because someone is driving 100 mph in a 65 mph zone without getting caught doesn't make it any less wrong. I guess if no one wants to accept responsibility for their actions, then we all just get to do whatever the heck we want.

I already said it earlier, report the OP to the moderator if you want something done about it. Unless you prefer to catch up to the speeding driver yourself and tell him what he's doing wrong.

Well, getting hostile serves no purpose either. More importantly, I didn't "police" anything. I simply made a statement of fact.

Besides, grass-roots moderation is usually more effective than god-like post-nuking from up-on-high, especially since this forum doesnt have any regular posters who are mods.

No one has laid down the law here, much like Carl has over in the Sports Shooter Forum, so its up to everyone posting to keep in mind this forum's intended subject: Canon SLR equipment. Not everyone wants to run around cranking on the "Report" button, acting like a little tattle-tale.

This board has been self-moderated to a large extent which I think is very good.
Some aberrations happen here and there which is not a big deal as long as we remind ourselves of the standards we'd like to or should uphold.

I don't believe either this topic belongs in the Canon gear forum, and there are always some other such topics too.
However, while we shouldn't feel we need to excoriate poor Yohan here, we do need to restate the posting principle of applicability which we should all try to stick to.

How was I being hostile? I also only stated that if this thread really bugs people, the report button is more effective than telling off the OP. I wasn't aiming at you specifically when I talked about forum police either.
