It's sad but this 1910 church building in downtown Seattle is being demolished for new condos. I would not consider myself a religious man so it’s not about losing a church for me. I just hate to see the past destroyed so easily. We are still a young country and I walk around the city I do think about the heritage we leave behind. I think about the thousands of ancient cities in the world and the beautiful architecture and interesting nooks in the cities. I wonder if the US will ever have that feel and stature in the world.
DonT, not likely, too many of the people in this country insist on having new stuff, and want all the best creature comforts in everything...and sometimes that which is old, historic, significant and architecturally pleasing, can't provide that. It is a shame.
