What are you using to get this effect? Light box? I love the tone of this and would like to get some further insight if you don't mind?

Hey Steve... question still relevant even with a different image. I use a smith victor shooting table. I only use the white plexi, not the clear. I shoot with just flashes. Canon 420, 430 and 550 ex controlled with a ST-E2 IR trigger. I shoot most of the flashes through the plexi with minimal front lighting. The one I have up now used 6 flahes 2 behind, 2 below and 2 in front. The ones in front were diffused and snorkeled. That about covers it.

Wow, looks like I got some shopping to do with all those flashes. I like this shot just as well. Thanks for the info.

Another great DaveNitsche shot! Very clever. I guess this is the modern equivalent of "beating swords into ploughsharres" - turning a pistol into a caulking gun.

I like the tension in this shot...the clamp is both pressing the firing pin, and blocking the barrel. Good entry, Dave.
