Great set Tim & I admit - - I can not spot the Greenie in the environmental shot - -
but then - - all colors are off in FF since I installed 3.5 I can't judge a thing & trust it in here. I'm not happy....
# 3, 4, 6, 7, & 8 are my favorites.

Hey Lil!! The greenie is dead center, you can barely see him. I wanted to illustrate how hard they can be too find sometimes. Sorry to hear about your FF woes

I would call those bad day greenies Excellent shots buddy! that #3 has an awesome lighting to it stunning!
Hey now that you carry the 500 in the yak w ya is there gonna be room for me too? or will I have to swim along?
Nello my friend!! Bad day greenies Why I ought to....
Glad you like 3
Hey who said you could go in the yak again Just kidding, there is room in there for you and birdzooka
I just got my new Yak and have been out in it a couple of times, and one of those times, I took a swim. I will be putting taining wheels on it. Wildlife seem to be less spooky when approached slowly via a Yak, yet the Cormies are tough to approach.
Keep your photos coming, they are always a pleasure to view.
Larry
Thanks for the good words Larry. Hey great deal on getting a kayak Bad deal on going in the drink I'm sure you'll get the hang of it and yes wildlife is a lot easier to get close to in one

Well it just takes time and patience Per. I get close to where the bird seems to get uneasy, I then just sit. I don't raise the camera, paddle or do anything, just sit. After 10 or so minutes I move in a bit more and repeat the process until I'm where I want to shoot from. Then very slowly raise the camera while being as motionless as possible. It just takes patience.

OK !!!
Thank you Tim.
Get Close
If you are not using a yak you will need to approach the birds carefully. Walk in a zig zag pattern towards the birds so that you are never walking directly towards them. They will fly much less often if they don’t think you are coming for them. Also, do not look directly at the bird. If you stare at the bird and walk directly towards them you become a predator in their minds. By using your peripheral vision and walking at an angle you greatly reduce your threat profile.

#3, #4, #6 and #7 are my picks here. The color and detail are amazing in the two Grebe images. I especially love the water color in #3. The juvi Greenies are cool with the hair-do.
Hey Duane!
Thanks for the kind words!! You have to love the juvies hair do's
Great detail on the TS, Tim. Congrats on getting some Greenies. I love watching those guys fish. I'm begining to think that I need to buy a Kayak. You Yakers keep coming away with these great shots!

Sure thing David, rent a kayak out and see what you think. You may want to leave the gear home for the first voyage
