p.1 #1 · Radical Cloud Movement

60 Seconds somewhere on the Oregon coastline.... I created a tone mapped (HDR) layer that is providing added detail only to the sea stack. Using HDR to enhance the photo a little, but leaving everything else natural..... well as natural as possible for a 60 second exposure.

Thanks for looking and hope all FM'ers have an awesome 4th of July, wherever you are!

Interesting effects in this one - and the end result works quite nicely.

Fun shot

I like the sky!... The foreground (sea stack) is a little too perfect for my taste, but that sky makes this a real beauty.
cheers,

Great image

2 things, i would lighten the foregroud water a little and then straighten the horizon, it drops down to the right

the effect is fantastic

Cheers

The tilted horizon jumped at me, but I still love it. Love the dichotomy of sharp stack and blurred sky. Very cool work, John.

Interesting concept here. I would say you pulled it off pretty darn nicely, the sky is just awesome.

Cool beans John. I think the shot is particularly effective with the cloud movement.

Really nicely done. The HDR is subtle (in my opinion) and well executed. I actually wouldn't lighten the foreground water, it provides a darker toned area to add contrast. My problem with many HDR images, is that the photographer creates a very flat (low contrast) image by trying to pull shadow detail out of every dark area. Blacks add punch to photographs, and depth.
Again, nicely done. I would agree with Martyn & Barry, the horizon does dip some to the right.

Very cool shot here John!

I'd lower the saturation of the blues and straighten the horizon though.

Hey John,

That is some crazy clouds you have there! Nicely done here, that is a cool looking sea stack.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I'll fix the horizon and maybe lessen the blues at the bottom of the clouds. Feedback appreciated.
