I was hired to do headshots, poses, and environmentals for a local yoga/pilates/dance studio. I took several styles of "headshots," but my personal favorites were the very close, straight-on shots, so that's what I've posted. All of these are for web, not print, so I have probably clipped highlights a little bit in skin tones (in post). I thought having some texture would give the shots a nice "organic" feel. My masking is far from perfect, as these are just quickie versions of my own vision for the shots, which the instructors may or may not like. Any comments or critiques are of course welcome.
Pfiltz, if you were to specify how/why you find them boring, I would be happy to consider your suggestions, and take them into account on my next shoot. You didn't mention any of the other shots. Not that you are required to, but I am curious if you have any opinion.
disagree with pfiltz on the headshots-boring? please-i think that's an absolutely rude and useless way to comment on peoples' work-if you don't like it, say so and explain why-i suspect, however, that he'd rather be snarky than helpful-makes him feel important-oh well, can't win 'em all-i love the expressions, well framed-like the poses/positions shots as well-the simplicity of it all works for the yoga theme, i think
the motion on 3b is very interesting-without those colors (her clothing), i don't think it would have worked so well-but together, it's a great combo

really nice set

Thanks for your kind words, Daniel, I really appreciate it. To be fair, I recently posted in one of Pfiltz's threads saying an image was boring, without going into specifics. I assume that's the only reason he even bothered to look at my thread.
