I am going to buy one too after seen this thread, does anyone expect that it will be updated with IS image stablizer any time soon? if no i will buy one now, this lens is magical.

I don't think so..IS is not necessary with this lens..

There are actually 4 generations of the 85 L:

-FD 85mm f1.2 SSC Aspherical
-NewFD 85/1.2 L
-EF 85/1.2 L
-EF 85/1.2 L II

The image above was taken with the original (SSC Asph.) which I lovingly refer to as Grandpa. I guess "Great Grandpa" is more accurate.

You've got a sharp eye, Epuja. That is indeed a Mallard drake swimming for his life away form the enraged dragon. You see, shallow DoF helps to conceal such distractions as ducks.
