Keep in mind that that photo is from the Komine-made Vivitar 28/2 Close Focus.

i've been following the pentax thread about the lens. i guess the "amazing" version of the lens has the serial number starting with 28... is this the kiron made or the komine? thanks, david

Don't be misled by one single picture from this lens. It's not that easy to get such a result from it. That's my experience (with the Komine) anyway.

haha this is soooo random!!! but after all the reasearching, i randomly called our local pawn shop, and low and behold... they had a MINT kiron 28mm 1:2.5 M42 mount!!! haha. picked that baby up for 60 bones. did some quick shooting with it and was dang impressed... these were just converted from raw to jpg, no extra editing : ) thought people might be interested in what this lens can really do... so i posted a thread with some unedited results. see what you think... https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/775120/0#7102072

I don't like that bokeh at all though.

I'd be interested to see how the Nikkor 28/2.0 would do on such a shot.

anyone know a good repair shop that will clean the blades on this lens for a reasonable charge? just got one in OM mount with oily blades...
