My first time to visit at the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle just outside McAllen Texas this past Saturday.
Quite numbers of people claimed they have been healed by the Miracles of Our Lady Mary for just attending the mass or their total devotion.
In this image, a charity blessing was conducted by the priest after the mass.
Also, to anyone looking at this image, please be aware that I'm not here to spread religion of any sort,I'm sharing my experience as a Photographer.
Thanks for looking.
The orange cast of the color temp imbalance is a bit distracting. Also the space on the right doesn't add to the interest and makes it seem a fairly static composition. Would you like to see an edited version?
Please do, I would like to see your version.
Btw,this was taken with ambient and a bit of natural light from the windows.
If you notice there's a spot light between the candle and the priest which makes that side brighter.
I once tried cropping out the right window but didn't look proper in composition in my opinion hence the space.
Thank you so much.
Hmmm...
I'm gonna have to disagree with AuntiPode on this one; I think the color cast and negative space make for a very surreal image. The graven images in the background also look very realistic, so at first look it is difficult to determine how many living people are actually on stage...
It works for me anyway.

You needed to get closer and bring the preacher more into the picture. As it is, there is a small guy in white swallowed by darkness standing over a mess of shadows. Behind him is some sort of Aztec symbol. Or at least I think it looks Aztec because I can't see too many details. Had you used this lens and been closer, you'd have an image. As it is, looks like a snapshot to me.
