I have some law enforcement K9 training shots and I'm having trouble figuring out where I should post them. It's not a sport, but is is action. They are not portraits, but they are domesticated animals. They are nature, but they are not wild. I don't want to put them in the wrong forum and make a moderator mad.
I think that a lot of people would be interested in seeing them. I've watched Schutzhund training several times, and it's very dramatic.
I suggest that you try a (different) photo in several galleries and see where you get the best response. I certainly wouldn't leave out City/Abstract, as K-9 officers are part of our cities these days. Others could be Sports (some amateurs do serious training), People, and if you have a conversion, Black&White.
I'm really looking forward to seeing them myself.
And just for good measure, here's our "schutzhund."
Beautiful dog, nice teeth. How long does that tennis ball last? I have a retired and a working dog and they both destroy a tennis ball in a couple "squeezes".
Thanks for the reply, I think I'm going to try them in the sports section.

Thanks, Dan; they REALLY love to play catch, don't they! We used to buy our shepherds the cheaper, pet store tennis balls, and like in your experience, they didn't last long. Then we got a real tennis ball, which held up beautifully. I got a three ball can from the sports store for five bucks or so---and now, three months later, they're all still in tact. Makes it cheaper in the long run than the 49 cent pet store specials. The stuffings are higher quality or something in the real tennis balls so it's not as easy to bite right through them. We also insist that the dog return his tennis balls when play time is over. I'm not sure how long they'd hold up if he had indefinite time to spend on disassembling them.
Great shot. I use "Kong" toys now. They are kind of like a cone shape snowman, made out of different compounds and different sizes. The retired dog keeps his with him all the time and never chews on it. The new dog took one apart one day when I wasn't paying attention but as long as we are just playing fetch they will last forever.
