Thanks for the tip. I'm in the market for one and it's hard to pass up a deal like this. The only thing I'm worried about is the "U.S. customs charges may be applied." Not sure how much that would be.

Yep, they're fairly accurate. Although I've not bought any photogear from them in a long time. Ordered some stuff while deployed and it was ok. As far as duty, goes, I've never had any charges or hassles w/ customs while traveling military. I came back with a bunch of clothes I bought in Korea on TDY and didn't get sweated at all. However, I'll bet war stories abound! Most of the nightmares I've heard delt w/ counterfit items.

I just picked up I 1DS2 a week ago in the same price range.....I'm happy w/ the 1DS2

Can't afford a 5d2 at this time.

I wonder if the bodies are grey market or come with USA warranty? The 5D2 page on the Aafes web site says it ships from out of the country and "import duties" may be charged.

It's been a number of years since I ordered through AAFES but the items then were always US versions - AAFES often buy directly from manufacturers as they supply the military/retired who live throughout the world.

Mikey707, I placed the order on March 13th but it looks like I jumped the gun. The transaction showed "pending" on my account yesterday but is now nowhere to be found. Looks like they backed it out. Now I'm not only depressed but I look foolish for posting too soon.
