Hi, funny, I am exactly in the same situation - rebought a 5d for architecture shots, now try to find out which shift lens to take. Your example does not tell much because a sharp 35mm lens is much easier to make than a 24mm lens. I have a very old Nikon 35mm shift lens which is quite sharp on the Kodak SLR-n, so with an adapter I will make it work on the 5d and I guess it will be sharp.
I had the 24mm and - as you said - it is not bad, but far from perfect. Earlier today I made a search for the Olympus 24mm shift, and one guy said he had both:

I also remembered having read an article on the matter on reidreviews.com (paid site), unfortunately I am no longer subscribed and therefore cannot read the review anymore. But if I remembered well, Sean Reid did also NOT share the extremely positive views of some owners of that lens. He sait it was good, but not out of the world.
The Oly is very expensive, and I guess there may be sample variation plus the fact that those lenses are probably 25 years old. You will have to stop down for shooting.
I personally will adapt my Nikon lens and otherwise will buy the Canon TS-E. A good sample can be quite sharp.
