I'm glad it's NOT a new hybrid MF system to be honest. I'd start by not wanting it, then get more interested, and in 6 months my wallet would be thousands lighter...
I don't know you all, but I can hardly afford to keep up with all the tech changes. I don't need Nikon introducing a major camera every 4 months. BTW, a "keyboardless" MacBookPro doesn't appeal to me.
There are at least four possibilities:
a) a MF Nikon was never a reality in the first place. The "BIG" announcement was simply misinterpreted and as usual, on Boards like this one, a game of telephone takes place and heads off into the Twilight Zone by fanboys who never would have bought one anyway.
b1) There was going to be a MF Nikon, but the global economy killed it.
b2) There was going to be a MF Nikon, but the negative reaction (to price) of the D3X killed it.
c) As rumored, this was going to be a large printing solution, but the partner isn't ready.
Etc.
BTW, a "keyboardless" MacBookPro doesn't appeal to me.
