p.1 #1 · The right time, but the wrong place.

The expression 'The right place but the wrong time' was somewhat apt tonight, but rephrased 'The right time but the wrong place'.

A most gorgeous sunset over Brisbane tonight, with partial cloud cover and a clear horizon leading to some lovely play on the clouds. It started out with a very bright gold before turning to a searing orange red.

I had the trusty nifty fifty on the Canon and took this hand held stitched panorama consisting of ten photos. This is the view out of the garage. Just a ten minute drive up the road is a lovely view looking out over a 'valley' with some light residential/industrial complexes, and a mountain range out to the west. A much more fitting location (and other spots) than the view from the driveway.

Interestingly enough, this photo was almost perfectly in the 617 format after the pre-render crop. I've snipped it down to a perfect 617 size (only took a touch off the bottom).

Awesome sky, i really like being able to see a bit of detail in the roof of the opposite house, very angular and completely at contrast with the sky.

Rowan

Thanks guys, it looks like we're going to have similar conditions tonight so I will have to get out to a better spot!

I look forward to seeing the results. Good luck.

Pierre.
