p.1 #1 · Winter Lozenge, Silberkarklamm

To me it looks like a big iced candy hence 'Winter Lozenge', I like both the mono and color version, free feel to comment on the image.

Thank you for looking in,

Gavin

Gavin

Both work really well, i like the textures and the grittiness of the first and the colours add a different dimension in the second. Difficult to choose a favourite

I like them both, too, Gavin. But I prefer the color version, as I feel the wet colors of the rocks set off the ice and stream a little more. I didn't even notice the water in the B&W version.
Beautiful image either way.

Sometimes one opts for BW because what seems to contribute most to a shot is not its range of colours, but rather its texture and structure. But although the colour range is limited in this, it seems to give a lift of life and light to the scene. It might be to do with the BW processing of the shot, but the colour version seems more vivid to me, and the warmer brown tones work well off the cold tones of ice and water. An opinion! And both are fine shots!

Thanks Rob, Barry, Karl, Al, Hazel

I see the color one has the edge over the B&W

Not for me, I like the BW version more. The textures are stronger and provide enough separation. Very nice.

Love both. Nice motion and stability at the same time.
