I have a older Power PC G5 Dual 2 GHZ with 4.5 sdram running 10.4.9 with CS3. I do some editing on this computer and it also runs a IPF 8100 canon printer. I would like to upgrade the CS3 performance on this machine. Any ideas?

Without buying a new machine the only way to get a significant performance boost is to move to a different application. There are 4 or 5 CS2/CS3 clones out there that are free and that just trounce Adobe's performance!
I have a mac pro 8-core 2.66 machine with 4 gigs RAM and running CS4 I don't notice much if any performance increase over a single CPU 3.01 Ghz machine. Maybe if I put them side by side with a stopwatch or something but relative to it's environment the CS4 on this machine "feels" the same as PS felt 10 or 15 years ago. Just the app got bigger and more bloated with some new features. I suppose if I put CS4 on a 10 or 15-year old machine it would be too slow to use - shrug.
