Really love the gritty feel of the image. Seems like a really retro shot. Nonetheless it is a great image. The lighting is spectacular and the clear-cut horizontal lines are a plus for me. I only wonder how great it looked in real life.
I wonder how this would look cropped to a very strong pano format emphasizing the glorious rays. To me there is too much included at both top and bottom.
you must have been using a pretty long lens... I live in victoria, and I know that french beach and washington state are not THAT close...I go camping at french beach a couple times a year, and also go for many hikes further past french beach, so it's nice to see a shot from the area. I agree the image is quite gritty, and could maybe benefit from a slight change in crop.
I've always admired your work, Tim - but I agree with Henry's comment. Great capture of the rays and the lower part of the dark clouds is enough to convey the dark stormy mood. I like it.
