Todd,
It does look a little nuclear, but it is eye catching. I would turn this into a long panorama by cropping out the botttom 1/2-5/8, i.e., the rock and bush. Monument Valley is a tough area to photograph with interesting immediate foreground. In this case, I would make the nuclear sunrise the star of the show and the Mittens and Merrick Butte part of the abstract and leave out the rock and bush. Then you'll have the bottom third the snowy ground and the top 2/3s the sunrise. It looks good to my eye that when when I crop it on my screen.
I agree with Jeffrey. I honestly believe that in cases like this a slight underexposure of the foreground is in order. It is not middle tonality after all; it is in shadows.
It is beautiful landscape photography though.

Thanks for the added comments everyone. I'm glad it's starting to look a little more refined. I just got new computer as well as CS4, so I'll be taking a look at it with the new setup. I'll be sure to repost, as well as more MV shots.
Mark - No problem taking a quick look and reposting. I appreciate the feedback. It was a heck of a sunrise for sure. I was bothered by the sky being darker in the upper left as well. I think I will look at darkening the foreground as well. And I especially appreciate the thoughts on hanging it large and in a gallery, thanks for the vote of confidence.
Super shot, Todd. I love the contrast of the snow with the red rock and sand. I don't mind the slightly unreal perspective on the mittens. It could be seen as a piece of artistic liscence and fits well with the dizzying nature of that first view of the place. I would agree with darkening the foreground a tad as that will really enhance the midground and the sky. When all's said and done, it remains a great picture!
