That pricerange? SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4
+1. You made a good choice.
Don't know what you paid, but I see them all the time for 40-60 bucks on eBay, plus $20 for a quality screw-mount adapter (if you order from fotodiox, get the $20 adapter, not the $13 one) and you're set to go.

For $150 you could easily find a Contax 50 1.4.
If you can find one in nice clean condition for $150 you should buy it. I see them listed on the Buy-Sell pages here for as much as $250 and they sell.

I am not sure whether you can mount CZ Planar 50/1.7, but its difficult to find sharper lens than that.
Just last night I tested Rokkor 58/1.2 with that, there is no competition (even keeping Rokkor at f2 and Planar at f1.8).. Oh yeah, people can jump on me with, "Copy varies.."... Indeed, but I test with my arsenal only...
High ISO and Planar, difficult to beat the combo...
But I am talking about crop cameras, never used full frame..
I just got my Contax Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.7. I forgot that there was potential trouble in mounting it, and I just did it and tried snapping photos. No problems.
I didn't even remember that there could have been a mirror problem until 30 minutes later haha. I guess I'm lucky

You gotta' just LOVE the fact that Canon's newest camera is causing people to start searching for non-Canon lenses. The word "irony" doesn't even cut it. Something beyond irony...
And of course, these same folks will then start using these lenses for still shots, realize how much fun it is to use / explore alt glass, a kaboom- vintage prices on Ebay are going to skyrocket.
It's bad, I tell you, baaaaad.
Same thing happened with the original 5D, and even moreso with the release of the 1Ds3 a while back. Same old cycle...
