Will is my Spectacled Parrotlet (hatch date: 11-10-01). Just because the weekly topic is "pets" ... does not insure said pets will be cooperative on this given week. The dog is reluctant, the cat is not playing; and the fish are not interested.

This little one has many names, but for a 4" bird, he has the attitude of a condor (closest relatives are the larger Amazon parrots).

Anyway, I have poor lighting, a pinhole of DOF (so I had to decide between beak or eyes), macro lens and a crankie little birdie (enjoys pummeling my lens as opposed to posing), but here is Will's portrait in miniature.

I was hoping we'd see another bird or two! Thanks for peeking in.

Yes, but as an old fashioned guy I'd rather if it was the eye that was emphasized.

Beautiful colors, and great exposure!
While I do like a shallow DOF, I'd prefer a bit more here to get the eye in focus as well.

Thanks guys! It's SUCH a hard call, the "eye focus" shots just were not that good ... I worked at the entire thing for a good, long time and might go back in there, if he'll have me
