Hi.

My comments below are offered in a friendly tone of voice and with the sole intent or goal to help you with a different POV and a second set of eyes. They are not a criticism of you, your talent or skill or your model.

I generally like the photo.

But....it seems a little "limited" for one reason: We cannot see what he is photographing.

I think it would be a "stronger" image if the "subject" was shown as well as the photographer given the wide/landscape type image. Obviously he is intensely focused on "something."

My Simple Suggestion: Include the Subject of the Photographer somehow in the photo.

I hope that helps you or someone.

I like the intensity of his concentration. The sky is a nice element here too.

The building in the background almost becomes a secondary subject, dividing our attention, so the photographer himself is getting less attention.

I'm going to agree with Steady on this one.

Wow, strong image. Love the deep tones in this. Sort of HDR without being over the top.

Definitely a great shot

The unfortunate problem with this image is that you're going to have to make a judgement call on what's important in the image. You basically have two choices and each would likely be mutually exclusive of the other:

- Focus on the photographer and make sure that *we* can see his expression

- or -

- Try to capture what he's seeing and lose the impact of his expression because of the distance or focal length you're going to have to use to include the scene (aside perhaps from the use of a wide-angle lens--but then distortion would become a factor in the finished product. Which may also detract from your message.).

Personally, I like that you captured his expression. It makes me wonder if that's the way I look!

Thanks,
Bruce

Photographers' version of the "white man's overbite"*.

* - reference to one of my favorite movie scenes from "When Harry Met Sally"
