A number of years ago a good friend gave me a Waterford Crystal paper weight. It was in the shape of a golf club drivers head. Occasionally the sun would hit it on my desk and I thought there must be a picture in there somewhere. Well, this is what I came up with. This is a photo looking through the face of the club head with a red beach towel and a green Ivy hill in the background. The patterns comes from the cut glass on the exterior. I would have taken it yesterday, but the smoke in the sky of LA just killed the blue I needed.
The only adjustments to the photo was a levels layer and a couple of minor clones to remove dust specks, crop, and size. There was no adjustment to saturation etc. Comments are always welcome.
Hey Strad, thanks for the comments. I lurk around here and have been really impressed with the photos you have put on the board, great stuff. I live in the Stone Canyon area of Sherman Oaks, just west of you by 15 minutes. Thanks again for the comment.
This is very cool! I think the only thing that bothers me a little is the out of focus spots on the top and bottom. I think it'd be stronger to crop into that middle part, which is a very fascinating abstract.
Hey everyone, I really appreciate your feedback. I've not been too busy lately with a camera in my hand. It was really fun to start thinking from a creative standpoint yesterday and press the shutter.

Trying to crop an abstract is one of the hardest crops to figure out. For everything you get, you give up something. I have re cropped the photo as the top was the part I did have some questions about. The original had some cool colors and a complete stair at the top, but there was something about it I was not sure about. I will say that I left the bottom as it was. I really liked the almost water reflection quality to it. Thank you for your comment as I do like this crop better.
