p.1 #1 · San Antonio Zoo...some of my best shots to date!
Hey gang,
Our Cub Scout pack had a "Roars and Snores" sleep-over at the San Antonio zoo. We all had a blast, but the follow-up day at the zoo went very well for me and my rented Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM lens. All of the photos and macros can be view over at my San Antonio Zoo Fall 2008 Sleep-Over, Cub Scout Pack 562, Round Rock, TX flickr set, but here are a few of my favorite shots of the day:

Very nice job, Roy! The detail and sharpness is quite wonderful in these photos. The only comment I have to make is that on the rainbow lorikeet, it appears that the reds may be a tad oversaturated.

Hi Roy, I looked at these earlier and thought to myself he is right, these are outstanding shots! Just forgot to leave my comment, guess I had hoped you could read my mind
#3 and #7 are awesome as is the lighting on the beak in the first
Nice job, really nice IMO

A great series with beautiful colors and detail. Congrats. The 300 F4 certainly worked out for you. What camera did you use with it.

Great shots. Love the rainbow lorikeet...always a favorite zoo subject of mine for their colors. It does look like some of the reds may have gotten lost to over-saturation though...

@ Karl, written or not, thanks for the comment.
@ Martin, Shot with a Canon 30D
@ bpark42, I use Bibble Pro 4.9 to RAW post my photos and I generally use contrast +2 and saturation +3, but since reds have always posed issues with my 30D raw files I probably shouldn't have increased saturation at all...btw +3 is pretty low on the scale for Bibble.
