It belongs in this area but may not be allowed but I will still ask.
Why do people take off the price they were asking for equipment after they sell it? I am in the market to sell some gear but want to know what it is worth. Knowing the market value for similar ones and what they have sold for helps. With people taking down their asking price (granted may not have sold for that) there is no way to know the street price on used gear.
I totally agree it's a great way to see what the going price is. I also wonder why a person who sold this wants to keep it a big secret, I have sold a ton of gear here and never once did I think it was necessary to delete the price
Oh good, I thought for sure I would have to put the flame proof suit on. I am surprised at how many take down the price. I always leave mine up so future people have a gage.

Actually it has ticked me off for a long time and can never understand why. To me leaving the price makes the forum a better place a great place to to see what people are getting.
This topic comes up from time to time and I agree 100%. Keeping the sale price on the listing allows potential buyers to know if they are getting a good deal, and potential sellers can check to see if they have the item listed at a fair price rather than waste time with multiple price drops.

The new previous versions feature is nice if you really want to know the previous price.
That is what the SOLD in the banner is for. If the person is dumb enough to pm you with that they are dumb enough to pm you to ask even if you remove the price and put sold.
It has been my pet peeve for the longest time... What are they trying to hide?
Again, now you can go back to look the price up in the original listing .
I agree that the price shouldn't be covered up. It really sucks when shopping for an item and the only price I can find out of 10 threads is the price from 2 years ago.
Also, I didn't know about the "previous versions" feature. Thanks for the heads up, everyone
I mark the item sold in red letters and leave the price for precisely that reason.
Some forums make it mandatory to leave the price in the event of a dispute later.
