Thank you, the little guy is Amitabha Buddha, I forget it is either to symbolize that Buddha is watching over the world, or to symbolize that she has attained Buddha hood.. possibly both.

Nice picture, Alex. I like both the composition and lighting. Fits the theme very well, not to mention the goddess herself is a calm and low key figure in Buddha tales.

But one small thing I want to point out. As a Chinese, I do believe the name of the goddess is Guan Yin which is a well known name to almost every Chinese.

Mingming thanks! This was quite a debate in my household, apparently the spelling is a subject of region, iv seen Quan yin, Guan yin, and Kuan yin… and some text on the inter-web that freely goes back and forth in the same paragraph.

I do see now that wikipedia has the name as Guan Yin as you suggest.. I probably should have gone there first.
