I want to stitch some images and was wondering if anyone who has used ArcSoft's Panorama Maker would be willing to share their impressions of the program. Does anyone have a recommendation for a better program to use?

Any information would be appreciated.

I have not used that software, but I have used Hugin. It is easy to try, and cheap to keep.
You are even legally allowed to pass it on to your friends!

definitely try the new v0.7 of Hugin

there is also AutoPano Pro and PTgui but they are both commercial ($)

Thanks for the suggestion. I Googled Hugin, and I must admit I still haven't figured out how to install it. I do consider myself fairly computer savvy but I have never heard of a Tar file whatever that is. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place. Is there a simpler way to get this program?

Are you running microsoft? You can build it yourself, if you want - or use the installer:

This is a develepment version (not as stable as the release). You can check:
http://panospace.wordpress.com/downloads/
and see when the 0.7 release app

if you go to: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=77506&package_id=78426
you can find a microsoft installer for 0.6.1
